About Me
I obtained my undergraduate at Berea College in Kentucky. I majored in Classical Civilizations, while minoring in History. Since the school was focused around work/study, all students were required to have an on-campus job. My sophomore year I transferred into the theatre department as a carpenter, primarily since I loved wood working and the technical of theatre interested me. Over the next three years, I worked my way to becoming known as the guy who can make everything out of anything. I am always willing to try new techniques and to see if I can master a new style.
While my undergrad major had little directly to do with technical theatre, it and my theatre work complimented each other nicely. Classical Civilizations taught me to consider the meaning of an item, to discern its original intent and to look at the modern receptions of said item. In short, to analyze and understand the who, what, where, why, and how. Which, I have found, happens to be a very useful skill for working with directors and designers.
After graduating, I returned home to Rolla, Missouri, where I started to help out with the local Equity theatre, the local community theatre group, and the local University's small theatre department.
